The Remote Terminations System (RTS) is a fail-safe device which incorporates a relay which changes state when commanded. This can be used as a means of independently stopping a remote controlled asset in a fail safe manner.
The Remote Terminations System uses a “Keep-Alive” encrypted radio transmission to allow the system to operate. When the radio transmission carries a Terminate command, or is interrupted or becomes invalid for any reason, the RTS receiver switches off a pair of relays. The relays can actuate a device such as a solenoid valve to bring the vehicle into a safe condition. Dual redundant radio links can be used for added security.
