Power Generation Controller Input Module (PGCI)

Power Generation Controller Input Module (PGCI)2018-04-20T16:59:03+01:00

The purpose of the PGCI module is to accept two separate sources of raw power at 12 or 24V nominal, such as PV panels or fuel cells or shore power supply, and to feed these to a common node which can charge the battery.

Two or more of these modules may be connected by sharing common 0V and power pins, in order to accept more than two input power sources.

The Power  Generation Controller Input module (PGCI) has the following features:

  • 2 input channels per PGCI module (up to 10A each)
  • Up to 8 PMMs and 8 PGCI / PGCOs on one RS422 bus
  • Trip on on over-current
  • Fault protection: so if one PV panel is short circuited, others are unaffected
  • Programmable restarts on each channel after tripping
  • Configurable delay before restart
  • 12V or 24V input voltage (nominal)
  • Each channel can automatically turn on at power up
  • Voltage and current monitoring over the RS422 bus
  • Intuitive front end software allows the user to configure each channel on the fly
  • Configurable trip currents
  • Power on at start-up can be set by DIP switches or by software
  • On/Off/Trip status can be monitored and controlled remotely
  • Average and peak currents can be monitored
